Biden’s Honeymoon With Voters Is Over

I remember talking to a friend before last year’s presidential election. He had never voted Democrat in his life (in his case it meant decades) but he was going to cast his vote for Joe Biden. I should add that he absolutely despised Donald Trump. In 2016, he couldn’t bring himself to vote for Hillary Clinton and simply chose to sit out the election. His main reason for coming off the sidelines and voting for the Democratic presidential candidate was COVID. He felt that Trump had completely mishandled the pandemic. When I asked what he thought Biden would do differently, his response was: “He will follow the science.”

That is the power the regime media still has with the masses. Conservatives should not find comfort in polls showing that the trust in media is at all time low. The masses might not trust the media but they still listen to it – and that includes many conservatives. The masses still soak up the propaganda through repetition. But I digress.

COVID is the key reason Biden defeated Trump. The pandemic gave cover for the Democrats to change election rules and implement mass mail-in voting. Biden’s promise that he would “shut down” the virus, resonated with my friend and millions of Americans eager to return to normal. However, nine months into the Biden administration and no end to the pandemic in sight, Americans have soured on Uncle Joe.

Add the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, the chaos at southern border, inflation and the net result is record low approval rating. USA Today reports:

“Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 38%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. That’s down from 42% three weeks ago and from a high of 50% in mid-February.

“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a prepared statement…..

While Biden maintains wild popularity among Democrats – about 80% approve of the job he is doing – his approval rating among Republicans and independents, who make up the largest portion of the sample, has cratered, according to Quinnipiac.

About 32% of independents approve of Biden’s job as president. His approval rating among Republicans is only 4%.

The dismal job numbers announced yesterday means that Biden’s approval rating won’t be recovering any time soon:
