Episode 6: Blacks Will Not Vote for the GOP

Since the mid-80s, Republican strategists have dreamed about increasing their party’s share of the Black vote. Yet, for decades, the GOP share of the Black vote has hovered around 10%, sometimes a couple of percentages less and other times a couple of percentages more. What explains the GOP obsession with attracting Black voters to their cause? Is it about winning elections or something else?
