As Joe Biden is clearly headed for the Democratic nomination, panic is spreading among Trump supporters. Oh sure, they put on a brave face and claim that their man will easily trounce Sleepy Joe in the debates and general election. Funny how today Trump is regarded as a master debater by both sides of the aisle. In 2016, all the pundits declared Hillary the winner of all three debates against Trump. Not just the winner, they said she had mopped the floor with The Donald. Even Trump supporters acknowledged that their man had fallen short – especially in the first debate against Hillary. At the time, I was one of the few voices that went against the conventional wisdom and declared Trump had scored the points he needed to score in the first debate.
Michael Goodwin is a perfect example of the panic spreading among Trump supporters now that the whole plan to run against socialism came to an abrupt end once the Biden South Carolina firewall held. This morning he published a piece arguing that the Democrats will turn to Hillary:
So it’s all set. Biden will be the nominee and give the party a solid chance of scoring a November trifecta: beating President Trump, taking the Senate and holding the House.
Count me as skeptical. Instead of a smooth ride, it’s more likely that the Dems’ desperate search for a Trump slayer will hit more turbulence and an alternative to Biden still could be necessary.
Guess what — one just happens to be waiting in the wings, hoping for an invitation. Before you laugh at the prospect of a Hillary Clinton comeback, consider the too-weird twists and turns of Biden’s campaign.
Goodwin is not alone in suggesting Hillary will get in the race. James Woods, another vocal Trump supporter, tweeted shortly after Super Tuesday:

Why are Trump supporters like Goodwin and Woods so eager to see Hillary back in the fray? They know that the Trump victory was a fluke and if the Democrats had nominated anyone else The Donald would have remained in his tower instead of moving to the Oval Office. They are hoping that a Hillary vs. Trump rematch will yield the same result. However, they will not get their wish. The Democrats are determined to win this year and they know Hillary, and not Russia, was the reason they lost in 2016.
